General information

The resort has child care facilities as well as a sports centre and skating rink. There are many marked hiking trails and some beautiful countryside to explore. Popular with French and Spanish holidaymakers being only an hours drive from Barcelona. Perpignan is just a short drive away from the slopes and you can combine your holiday with this interesting and historic town. The 15th century Cathedral and the Palais de Rois de Majorque are especially interesting for the colourful history and the palace has pristine gardens with a fine view of the Mediterranean.

Apres-ski

A good nightlife is enjoyed in the village as there are 4 venues for live music and a lively disco pumping up the volume till the wee hours. There are about 20 restaurants ranging from fine French dining (L’Esquirol is popular). Creperies and fondue restaurants are all available. For a quiet night try the cinema or one of the intimate bars.

Overview

Font-Romeu is a small ski resort in the Pyrenees about 19km from Perpignan and is perfect for the family with great facilities nearby. The slopes are 4km from the village and there is a bus service. The mild climate in the area can make conditions sparse towards the end or at the start of the season, but they have got around that problem with a snow making cannon that covers half the slopes The extensive cross country trails are a good bonus.This is a good place to learn and provides a challenge for the good skier.
