Obergurgl Ski Information
General information
The town of Innsbruck offers visitors a great selection of entertainment, should they wish to take a break from skiing. The Alpenzoo is a wonderful place to visit to enjoy a great family outing. The zoo is home to more than 800 animals, ranging from more than 140 different species. These include animals such as alpine birds, various reptiles, eagles, wolves and rabbits. Should you wish to do some sightseeing, the Cathedral of St. James is an excellent place to visit. The cathedral was built in 1717 and contains a monument of Archduke Maximilian III, which dates back to 1620. There are also a couple of other museums and historical sites which are worth a visit, such as The Tyrol Museum of Popular Art, The Hofberg Palace and The Hofkirche cathedral.

Apres-ski
The Apre ski scene is reasonably well equipped, consisting of a few bars and clubs, as well as some shops and an extensive range of excellent restaurants. There are also a couple of other activities available, such as a bowling alley and an ice rink, which promises to offer loads of entertainment for both young and old. The resort has a fitness center with a large heated outdoor swimming pool, as well as extensive walking trails and paragliding facilities.

The Obergurgl ski resort features a height of 1930m and is one of Austria's highest resort. The resort is home to 23 lifts and 39 slopes, which caters mainly for intermediates and beginners, which ensures it to be an excellent family venue. Intermediates have the opportunity to indulge in some challenging tree-lined skiing. The resort also offers a couple of challenges for snowboarders, with a specialised boarding park and a halfpipe. The Apre ski scene is reasonably well equipped, consisting of a few bars and clubs, as well as some shops and an extensive range of excellent restaurants.
