The rolling Atlantic surf and golden beaches of North Devon are but 10 minutes drive away and yet the cottages and farmhouse at Fairview Farm are set in unspoilt Devon countryside stretching as far as the eye can see - a lawned courtyard of converted stone and cob barns around the farmhouse and surrounded by 13 acres of pasture, with views extending to Dartmoor and to the sea at the Taw estuary.
Although our barns no longer echo to the lowing of cattle, they instead slumber in this peaceful spot, where you are invited to relax and enjoy the sight of buzzards wheeling overhead, swallows nesting in the barn, greenfinch feasting on the rose hips, and blue-tits and bats nesting in our nest boxes.
Each cottage has a comfortable lounge with colour TV complete with Freeview Satellite Digibox's and modern furnishing. There is extensive parking for boats and trailers and plenty of room for storage of bicycles, surf boards and drying wet-suits, so you can make the most of the famous and award-winning surfing beaches at Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde
All linen is provided, except for personal towels and cot linen. Cots, stair-gates, bed guards and high-chairs are also available, and guests have use of shared laundry facilities.
Within our grounds there exists an extensive array of facilities including an all-weather floodlit tennis court, five-acre 9-hole family pitch and putt course, swings, slide, climbing frame and a vast Indoor Play Barn for young children, with ride-on toys, Giant Wendy House, sand pit and ball-pond - a favourite which sometimes even outweighs the beach.
Not to forget our games room with its pool table, table tennis, darts and amusements, together with all the information leaflets, maps and local pub, restaurant and takeaway menus which you could possibly need to keep you well informed. Our 13 acres allows plenty of room for your well behaved dog. We even have some wild areas for exploring. Bring your Wellies ! |
