Binchester is a small village 3 miles north-east of Bishop Auckland and 9 miles south-west of Durham City. A public footpath opposite the cottage leads to fields, woods and the Auckland Walk for those wishing to exercise themselves or dogs.
The house is fully double glazed, has good loft insulation and is carpeted throughout. Central heating is gas-fired and the lounge is equipped with a gas fire. All rooms have been furnished to provide comfort for guests. The two bedrooms and bathroom are situated on the first floor. The kitchen/diner and lounge are situated on the ground floor The front entrance is via a double glazed porch.
The main bedroom has one double bed and one single bed, the smaller bedroom has two single beds. All linen, bedding, towels, etc. are provided in the hire costs. The kitchen/diner is fully equipped and has access to the patio area, and rear entrance. There is an enclosed lawn, gardens and parking to the front and side. |

There is a public telephone (& post box) 100m from the cottage, and a bar in the Village Community Centre (100m). There are a number of inns in the area with reasonably priced food, and a variety of 'take-away' & ethnic restaurants in Bishop Auckland or Spennymoor.
Binchester is an ideal touring centre being 15 minutes from Durham City, 1¾ hrs from York, 2 hrs from the Lake District and 1½ hrs from the Scottish Borders and 2 ¾ hrs from Edinburgh.
