This pretty three hundred year old Cotswold Stone Townhouse is a unique holiday home in the very centre of Tetbury, the famous woolen Market Town which has become the antique capital of the Cotswolds.
The ground floor has an utterly charming and spacious kitchen, with tile floor, rustic dining table, feature fireplace, comfy chairs and surprisingly modern kitchen equipment from microwave to washing-machine.
From the kitchen, an intriguingly narrow and steep staircase, a feature of many ancient townhouses in Tetbury, leads up to a gracious sitting room with another feature fireplace, a beautiful window, with working shutters, leather sofa and widescreen TV.
The next straircase leads up to the two bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with single bed. There is a beautiful old-fashioned bathroom with tub and sky light at the end of the beamed hallway.
All the windows in the house have working shutters and every surface is decorated with well chosen antiques and art work. The ambience is overwhelmingly romantic and welcoming. This is an ideal base for visiting this gorgeous region called the Cotswolds.
Tetbury might be even more notorious for being the closest neighbour of Prince Charles and his home at High Grove, just a mile and a half away. For Garden lovers, Tetbury is only two miles from the Westonbirt Arboretum.
Rates vary for the season, number of guests and length of stay, but always include all utilities and taxes.
There is a two night minimum stay, with a three night minimum on Holiday Weekends.
High Season:
April 1st to Nov. 1st and all holiday weekends: £95 to £175 per night, £600 - £900 per week
Low Season:
Nov. 1st to April 1st, excluding holidays: £85 to £125 per night, £500 - £700 per week
This is an unusual period property. The steep staircase makes it unsuitable for toddlers and young children. Older children are welcome with permission from the owners
