The Cottage was built in 2001 in typical Swedish Falun red and white style. It is in a small hamlet of 15 privately owned cottages spread out along the lake shore amongst the trees. Quiet and peaceful, this comfortable home from home is close to many beautiful, interesting and exciting attractions and activities.
As with everything in Sweden, environmental considerations were paramount in the construction of the cottage. It has its own well, providing clean pumped drinking water all year round for the shower, flush toliet and modern kitchen.
The modern, comfortable lounge seats 7 and has a TV with DVD player and VCR (no TV reception).
The cottage is only 30 metres away from Stor Sjo Lake and swimming. Ideal for fishing with pike, perch and pike-perch to be caught. Fishing permits & boat hire available. Contcat us for more information.
The raised sundeck wraps around two sides of the cottage, which with garden furniture is perfect for dining al fresco or a BBQ. Should the sun get too strong, simply wind down the awning or cool off with a dip in the lake.
With one double bedroom,a bunk bedded room and separate guests annexe with a single bed, sofa and spare mattress for the floor, this is just wonderful for families or couples wanting a quiet, romantic retreat. The large lawned garden offers plenty of space for garden games or a gateway to explore the forest behind. |

Sweden was voted "Favourite European Country" in the Guardian, Observer & Guardian Unlimited Travel Awards 2006
What springs to mind when you think of Sweden?
Undoubtedly ABBA and IKEA will be high on the list, perhaps images of snow, elk and vast expanses of forest. All these Sweden is justly famous for – but it has so much more! Did you know, for example, that just outside Stockholm lies an archipelago of 24,000 islands, many of which are completely uninhabited? Did you know that bears and wolves still roam the forests, lynx and wolverines still hunt in the mountains, or that Sweden contains Europe’s largest area of wilderness? That summer temperatures can rise to the high twenties?
What kind of holidays in Sweden would you imagine having?
Sweden is a fantastic destination for wildlife and outdoor holidays throughout the year, and offers a range of activities hard to find anywhere else in Europe. What’s more, it is readily accessible from the UK, an easy country to travel in, thanks to the well-developed public transport infrastructure and the fact that almost everyone speaks excellent English, plus the country has a reputation for being clean, safe and politically stable. So put away your preconceptions about Sweden and prepare to be amazed at the wealth of opportunities the country offers for a close-to-nature experience!

Guestbook: "What a lovely place. We went there with the parents in-law and sister in-law during the summer of 2006. There is plenty of space, a lovely huge garden and in such an idyllic situation. The weather was glorious and the lake is great for swimming. It is a real hide away that was surprisingly accessible, especially with the VERY quite Swedish roads.
We will definitely go again. The house was very clean and modern with that traditional Swedish feel. With everything you need from a washing machine to an iron. The neighbours were all very friendly and welcoming, but the best bit was the veranda where we had most of our meals, infect spent most of our time. See you in 2007!!!"
