The cottage was converted, along with its neighbour 'Alloro' from farm buildings in 2002. The work has been carried out to a very high standard, with cotto floors and beamed ceilings. There is a kitchen/living room at ground floor, and shower room. At first floor are two bedrooms, beautifully furnished in traditional country style, and a further shower room.
'Il Borghetto' provides the perfect setting for an idyllic holiday. The 30 hectare farm is secluded, but easily accessible, and has stunning views towards 'the ideal city' of Todi. There are two old farmhouses, as well as the two cottages "Nespolo" and "Alloro" in the middle of the estate, surrounded by wheat and sunflowers, woodland, vineyards and olive groves. Around the houses are lawns, shrubs and mature trees, and set between them is the swimming pool (15 x 6m, depth 1.5 - 2m) which is shared by guests at the houses. The farmhouses and cottages are simply and comfortably furnished in traditional style, and each has a garden area with barbecue for dining al fresco. The properties can sleep a total of 23 persons, and generous discounts can be given for bookings of more than one unit.
Despite its secluded position, Il Borghetto is ideally placed for visiting central Umbria. Todi, only 8kms away, is one of the most beautiful towns of Umbria, and is visible from Il Borghetto. Perched on a hill, Todi seems, in a quiet unassuming way, to encapsulate the very best of Italian architecture and culture, from its Estruscan origins, to medieval churches of immaculate proportions, to its tiny 19th century theatre. If you feel the need to travel further afield, Orvieto, Perugia, and the lakes of Trasimeno, Corbara and Bolsena are all easily accessible. |

The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, and there is the possibility of tailor-made courses for those who want to take Nespolo along with any of the other houses on the estate with groups of friends. These include traditional Umbrian cookery, and relaxation techniques, with qualified practitioners. |
