Beautifully restored charentaise stone cottage, with exposed beams, natural stonework & original fireplace, with a new woodburning stove.
The cottage benefits from a ground floor bedroom with double bed, bedside tables/lamps, ample hanging/ drawer space & dressing table area with mirror & power socket.
The shower room & toilet is just next door, with built in washbasin, roomy shower space, toilet, shaver/hairdryer socket.
Also on the ground floor is the open plan lounge/diner furnished in country style, with a sofa, 2 armchairs, coffee table, English satellite TV & DVD, Dining table & 6 chairs and dresser unit.
Adjacent to the lounge/diner is the well equipped kitchen. It has a full gas cooker,sink, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, toaster, coffee maker, quality pots & pans, and ample crockery, cutlery, glasses for a party of 6.
There is another lounge on the first floor which has great views over the open countryside. It has a cane sofa & armchair, coffee table, bookcase - packed with books, board games & playing cards.
On a separate mezzanine floor is the second bedroom which has a double & 2 single beds and ample hanging & storage space.
Alternatively the 2 singles can be joined together to form a king size bed. They are comfortable & sturdy and don't drift apart when joined in this way - see photograph section
We plan to offer free WIFI access this year, so please check when you book.
Outside the cottage are 2 private terrace areas with varying degrees of sun & shade.
Both terraces have a barbeque, table & chairs, sun loungers, everything you need to enjoy a relaxing day by the pool & garden.
All duvets, linen,towels & t-towels are included at no extra charge.
There is a washing machine in the barn opposite if needed.
We are a retired couple living in a small corner on site. We can be invisible or there to help if needed. |

Wildlife is abundant - hares, young deer, birds of prey and the pace is so relaxing.
Where driving is a pleasure if you want explore further afield.
Around the cottage there is room to roam, great for walking & cycling. It is so peaceful, yet only 10 minutes drive from the N10 interchange at Mansle.
Our city of Angouleme is 20 minutes away, which now offers a new flight route from the UK starting April, 2008.
This is in addition to the already established routes of Poitiers & Limoges which are under 1 hrs drive.
Cognac is 40 mins away & La Rochelle & the just 96 kms. |

There is an extra fridge in the pool house for chilling your drinks & washing machine facilities. The 15' round pool is for the exclusive use of guests staying at the cottage. |
