Our property is located about 50 minutes south of Caen in Lower Normandy, near the town of Vire.
The nearest airport to the property is Dinard Pleurtuit which is located just east of St Malo and flights into Dinard are operated by Ryanair from London Luton.
Cars can be hired from the airport and it takes approximately 2 hours to drive from Dinard to the property. If you feel you can manage without a car for your holiday at the cottage - total 'get away from it all'! - we can arrange to collect you from the airport at an additional cost. Car hire is available in Vire should you wish to have use of a car for part of your holiday to tour the area.
Alternatively, EasyJet operate flights into Paris from London Luton which is approximately 2.5 hours away from Maisoncelles La Jourdan.
The nearest ferry port is Caen Ouistreham - about an hours drive from the property. Brittany Ferries and P & O operate from Portsmouth into Caen and the P & O service is a fast ferry service which only commenced operation early 2004.
There are also ferries into Le Havre from Portsmouth which is about one and a half hours drive from Maisoncelles La Jourdan and also to Cherbourg about 1 - 1.5 hours drive away.

The cottage is a self catering property in a peaceful rural Normandy village with amenities as described.
The ground floor consists of a large comfortable lounge/dining area with log burning fire, satellite TV and video, an ample, fully equipped, modern kitchen with dining area and shower room and toilet. There is also a washing machine in a small lobby by the kitchen and shower room and in the lounge one of the sofas is a double sofa bed which adds to the sleeping capacity in the accommodation.
An open wooden staircase leads off the lounge to the first floor where there are two bedrooms – one double bedded and the second with 3 single beds – and a fully fitted bathroom.
Outside, the pretty garden area has ample room for parking and outside eating with barbecue.
Within the small village, a very short walk away, there is a bakers and friendly bar/restaurant with a small grocery attached where basic provisions can be bought.
Bed linen and towels are not included in the rental price but can be provided at a small additional charge upon request.
Should local transportation/taxi service be required, this can be arranged at additional cost.
