| Sun Valley is located just out of Ketchum, in the midst of the lovely Wood River Valley in the heart of the central Idaho Rockies. Surrounding peaks such as Bald Mountain soar to 9,200 feet and more. The nearby rugged Sawtooth Mountains are known as the "American Alps". The southern edges of Sawtooth National Forest and Challis National Forest encircle the resort area. It is about 160 miles (a two and a half hour drive) east of Boise, the state's capital. |
