| 1. Roatan Marine Park - The Roatan Marine Park, on the West End of Roatan was formed to help minimize poaching within the reserve. This group was formed by a group of concerned businesses and individuals with their primary objective to coordinate efforts into the patrolling of the Roatan marine reserve alongside BICA (The Bay Islands Conservation Association). This group now has two boats in operation, hired two captains and the help of the local police to catch poachers. Divers and visitors have all reported seeing more fish life on the reefs of the north west side of Roatan on every dive.
