Checkpoint Pub and Sandwich Bar - We are a friendly Pub and Sandwich Bar located in downtown Sosua. We are English speaking Canadians and welcome all. Open from 10:30 AM till 10 PM Monday-Saturday with daily drink and food specials, and box lunches on request for beach and Airline Travel.
Checkpoint Sosua - Great pub and sandwich bar! We came as a group to Vreezes and the bus dropped us off in town right in front of Checkpoint. The Canadian couple working there served us the best cheeseburger we ever had, fresh off the grill and we also had a wide varity of drinks there, too. Spicy Caesars- and imported beer- very nice. This place is a roundabout bar so you can see and talk to everyone. There were people there from all over- a regular United Nations. You can find them in the Beach Way Plaza, behind PJ's which used to be a great place to eat but isn;t anymore.
Debby's Pantry - We serve real home cooked pie dinners and English home cooked food. All our food is made and prepared with the freshest and finest ingredients. Stop for a light bite, a refreshing pot of English Tea, a chat with Brian and Debby about living in the DR.
Sosua Activities
Columbus Aqua Park - Located near the airport. This aqua park, opened in 1997, is a great place for a day trip, with fun for the whole family. They have water taboggons; 3 large pools; a lazy river; children's play area; diving tower; restaurants; gift shops; and bars on offer. The park caters to the whole family's desires and you're garunteed to have a great time.
Sosua Beaches
Sosua Public Beach - This is one of the top beaches in the area and is a very popular with tourists all over the world looking to catch some sun. The beach is full of vendors walking around selling all sorts of goods, including shrimp; bananas; fruits; and many other products. Behind the beach there are many shops and restaurants, selling almost anything you could want.

Atlantico - T5712878. This restaurant offers an interesting dining experience, and is very popular with tourists. They serve unique variations of seafood and steak dishes at very reasonable prices. Main courses cost around $8 - $15 and a seafood platter for two costs $17.50.
PJs - c/o Main and Duarte. This burger bar, with out door seating, is one of the best places to go for a meal and some people watching. They serve an excellent range of dishes, including breakfasts; chef's salad; and schnitzel burgers. This is a great place for breakfast or lunch.
Calle Dr Rosen - T5713024. This restaurant offers outstanding sunset views overlooking the sea, and is very popular with locals and tourists. They serve a range of dishes, including seafood; snacks; and an all you can eat barbecue on Fridays.
Sosua Bars & Clubs
La Roca - Main St. This is the oldest bar in Sousa and is very popular with a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. It has now been turned into a sports bar with live sporting events shown on the bigscreen TVs. This is a great place to go for a few drinks and to meet some new poeple.
Toff Toff Tucan - Located near the beachfront. This is one of the best night clubs in town and attracts a younger crowd of locals and tourists. DJs play a wide range of music, from international dance hits to more traditional Caribbean music. This is the place to go to party and dance all night long.
Moby Dick Disco - This is the most popular night club in town and is frequented by a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. They play a wide range of all the lattest and hottest dance music, catering to almost any tastes. This is the place to see and be seen, dancing and partying till the early hours of the morning.
