Plaza de la Cultura - This big green square is situated in the heart of the city, and houses some of the the city's cultural land marks, including the National Theatre; Museum of Modern Art; the Museum of History and Geography; and Museum of Dominican Man. This is a great place to relax and watch the city life passing by.
Los Tres Ojos National Park - Located on the east bank of the Ozama river, this park is an amzing place to visit. The park consists of a series of caves on different levels, with fresh water lagoons and filled with stalactites and stlagmites. This is a great place to take a break from the city and get back to nature.

Caribbean Blue - Hostos and El Conde. This is the best restaurant in the city and is ver popular with locals and tourists alike. It is housed in an old 16th century mansion and all food is cooked in the restored 1520 brick oven. They serve a wide range of excellent local dishes and the prices are reasonable.
Fogarate - Malecon 517. This restaurant, with its fun atmosphere full of mulit-coloured thatch roofs, is the place to go if you're looking to try some traditional Dominican food at its best. It is very popular with locals and tourists alike, the food is excellent and the prices are reasonable.
La Cafeteria - El Conde 253. This is one of the best cafes in the city and is a favourite hang out for local artists. They serve a wide range of light meals and snacks, with the best coffee in the city. This is a great place to go for breakfast or a light lunch.

La Guacara Taina - Av Mirador del Sur. This night club, set inside a cave, is the city's most popular club and is frequented by a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. This is the place to go if you're looking to party, dance and meet some new people. They serve a wide range of drinks at reasonable prices.
Agua Lounge - Hostos and El Conde, Zona Colonial. This is one of the hippest and most happening clubs in town, on the second floor of Caribbean Blue. This club is popular with a younger crowd of locals and tourists. This is the place to see and be seen in Santo Domingo.
Ocho Puertas - Jose Reyes 107, Zona Colonial. This trendy techno club is housed in a beautiful restored colonial warehouse, and is popular with the trendy locals and tourists. This is the place to go if you're looking to dance till the sun comes up.
