Close to Okere Falls with great trout fishing, rafting, kayaking and a pleasant bush walk is At The Ferns, a quiet private hideaway surrounded by tree ferns and visited by native birds.
The cottage is set in its own garden, the approach is level with plenty of room to park your car and boat. Opening off the living room is a covered terrace with gas barbeque and outdoor furniture. A third person can be accommodated, the charge is $20.
A sparkling new interior, the bedroom has a double and a single bed, there is a well-appointed bathroom with washing machine and the living room has a kitchenette, TV, video, stereo and selection of music tapes.
The cottage is well equipped for self catering or you arrange breakfast at the house for $15 each person.
