Your journey begins as you cross a rickety bridge to the small sand peninsula carved out by the bay in front and small brackish river flowing it's way out from behind.
Once over the bridge, you'll have a short walk along a pathway pathway leading through amorphous dense jungle terrain and around front to the Phuket Beach House.
The community of Chalong is a down to earth mix of local Thai's and expat foreigners (Farang's), mostly Yachters, from around the world who have all decided to make Phuket their home. While there are some guest houses, most of the large hotels are found on the West coast beaches. So the area is not set up to cater to tourist, which may be good or bad depending on your tastes.
While there are several businesses in the neighborhood; travel agencies, restaurants, outdoor markets, grocery stores, gas stations, dive shops, etc.. They all tend to cater to the folks living here, not the tourists dropping in. |

Chalong Phuket is a quiet and peaceful location free of tourist trappings. But the is a wide variety of activities to be found; Elephant rides, horse riding, safari's, rock climbing, snake shows, gun shooting, the zoo, etc.. But most of all, Chalong is where most of the boats set off for sunset dinner cruises, trips to other islands, diving, snorkeling or deep sea fishing.
The calm steady waters of the Ao Chalong Bay make it an idea place to drop anchor and park your boat. Thus, this bay is home for most of Phuket's marine adventure businesses.
From the PBH, it's a 25 minute drive to Patong, the largest most boisterous tourist beach with a bit too much of everything. 15 minutes to Karon, a popular Scandinavian area with a wide plush sandy beach and clear blue water. 10 minutes to Kata which is a small quaint beach area hosting club med and Kata Noi which is a small coral reef beach. Also in within this 10 minute drive is Nai Harn, a nice lesser known, but beautiful beach.
Jimmy's lighthouse is a real functional lighthouse nd a historic landmark of Chalong. Out front is where boating tours depart from every day. If you are into jogging, a round trip run from the PBH to the end of the Chalong Pier and back is 5km.

The bathroom in the back of the downstairs has a high, 24 foot (7m) high ceiling and plenty of space. All of bathroom furnishings are highest quality. There are two sinks, one toilet, one shower, 4 mirrors including a background lit makeup mirror.
The portion of the bathroom with the shower is constructed primarily of gray shades of hand carved marble and black granite. The other half of the bathroom has a mixed granite floor with black walls.
Both the shower and sink have hot and cold running water. All of the equipment and facilities are constructed of the finest quality materials. In general, the facilities are:
