The Inn is set back from the road on an acre of beautifully landscaped grounds. These include a formal garden, extensive lawns, herb and vegetable gardens, stone retaining walls, mature trees and flowering shrubs. Additional downtown accommodation in a separate heritage property is available. Furnished with French antiques, this two-bedroom, three-story property is ideal for two couples.
Amenities include: WiFi, an extensive DVD library of over 800 titles, and a bookshop on premises specializing in local, art and history titles.
The original carriage house is now Angel House Antiques, devoted to late-19th and early-20th-century china, clocks, historical art and silver.
Through their interests in antiques, history and heritage properties, present co-owners Russell and Patricia bring much to any stay. A documentary filmmaker, Russell spent five years researching, interviewing and filming throughout the province for the three-part series, Vanished in the Mist: The Lost History of Newfoundland, seen on History Television. Patricia brings thirteen years of experience in both fashion and interior design.

Guestbook: We escaped to this quaint inn during our December vacation and absolutely loved it.
It is located in the heart of St.John's, offering access to everything in this extraordinary city. An oasis!
The inn is delightful, tastefully decorated with beautiful antiques, with all the modern amenities. On the night we stayed in, we borrowed a DVD from their 700+ library of films. Amazing!
Our room was lovely, elegantly anointed, and even had its own fireplace - a real plus during those chilly Newfoundland nights!!
Our room faced the side garden, and had a great view of Signal Hill in the snow. I am a very light sleeper, and found the room to be very quiet.
Russell and Patricia are wonderful hosts, charming, delightful, and full of helpful information about the city and its history. Do stay for breakfast, as it was scrumptious all 3 days we were there.
We are definately coming back next Christmas! |
