| A 300-year-old former smugglers inn, the Old Borough Arms Hotel is situated at the foot of Rye’s famous Mermaid Street overlooking the Strand Quay with it’s bustling antique shops and restaurants. |
|
The Old Borough Arms was built in 1720 and was for many years a smugglers inn of some ill repute. Situated at the foot of Rye’s famous Mermaid Street, it overlooks the Strand Quay with its bustling antique shops and restaurants. The original Rye wall, built in the 14th century, is incorporated into the foundations of the hotel and part of it is exposed on the ground floor. Today, it is family run, whose aim is to provide a happy and relaxing atmosphere for our guests during their stay in Rye. Lynn & Glynne personally guarantee you a warm welcome |
