200 yards from Painswick town centre and nestled into the side of the valley, Tibbiwell Lodge feels as if it is miles from anywhere. With its fantastic views and superb location it is the perfect place to get away from it all whilst still having all facilities within walking distance.
The comfortable oak-floored Dining Room with its open fireplace is generous in size and nicely proportioned for you to be able to enjoy your breakfast chosen from our comprehensive menu.
Unlike most other guest houses in Painswick we have ample car parking, a facility rare indeed in a village built in times when horses were the main form of transport.
For those who enjoy walking, we have a drying room for your wet clothes and a dedicated boot wash area complete with a seat and brushes for your boots.
The Terrace Room, as the name suggests, has its own decked terrace at first floor level overlooking the beautiful Painswick Valley. Here you can sit with your newspaper, relax with a cup of tea, and take in the very natural surroundings.
The room itself is appointed with beautiful freestanding oak furniture including a king-size double bed. The soft-coved canted ceilings give the room a chocolate box feel.
The en-suite bathroom benefits from a double shower cubicle and corner bath.
The Balcony Room with its double leather slipper bed benefits from its own sheltered balcony where you can sit and relax with a cup of tea or glass of wine whilst enjoying the spectacular views that Painswick Valley offers.
The room has its own en-suite, complete with large bath with integral shower.
If you have a requirement for an additional single bed or travel cot, we can cater for your needs.
The Twin Room is a good-sized well-lit room with two comfortable single beds. It benefits from its own private shower room which is adjacent to it. |

Situated less than 10 miles from Cheltenham, and 40 minutes from J15 of the M4 and 10 minutes from the M5, Painswick offers a variety of things to do.
Local amenities include the village post office, grocery store, pharmacy and various retail establishments and gift shops. Gastronomically, Painswick is well catered for with its two pub restaurants, bistro and upmarket eatery. The local Spanish delicatessen adds a cosmopolitan flair.
For walkers there are plentiful local walks and dedicated footpaths, including the famous Cotswold Way. Views from Painswick Beacon extend into 5 counties.
There are a number of interesting places to visit for sightseers, such as St.Mary's Church with its famous yew tree church yard boasting 99 beautifully sculptured yew trees, and Rococo Gardens with its maze, follies and seasonal botanical attractions.
For those interested in sports, there is rugby, tennis, bowls and golf within the town. Gloucester Ski Club is approximately two miles from Painswick centre and there are various horse riding stables locally.
