Maple Bank is a charming Edwardian Guest House,originally built as a holiday home for the Dunlop family and retaining many original features.Situated in the village of Braithwaite, it offers splendid views across the Derwent valley to Skiddaw and the Latrigg: a perfect base for Exploration of the local area whether by car or on foot.
The new owners extend a warm welcome to all guests and are able to offer comfortable en-suite accommodation together with free private car parking; cycle storage and drying facilities.
The accommodation consists of 5 good sized double bedrooms, one twin and one family room,all of which are en-suite and equipped with TV, hairdryer and hospitality tray.Iron available on request.Rooms at the front have stunning views of Skiddaw while those at the rear may offer a glimpse of the local wildlife which include roe deer and red squirrel.
There is a guests'lounge for those who wish to relax or chat with friends. The spacious dining room provides a relaxing environment in which to enjoy our full Cumbrian breakfasts. For those with less hearty appetites we provide a range of cereals, fruit, freshly prepared fruit salad and yoghourt.
Braithwaite has several inns that serve lunch and evening meals and all are within easy walking distance of Maple Bank, which may relieve guests of the the need to decide 'Who's driving'.
At Maple Bank we are able to welcome children from 5 - 14: we regret we have no facilities for younger children. We are also able to accommodate dogs by arrangement.
Maple Bank is ideally placed as a base for exploration of the local area. Our website has links listing local visitor attractions as well as a calendar of local events.
At Maplebank we endeavour to provide good food, a warm welcome and do our utmost to make your stay both comfortable and enjoyable. Tea or coffee served gratis in the evening for guests who wish to use the lounge. |

| MapleBank is situated in the Lake Distict National Park, in the small village of Braithwaite, 2 miles from Keswick. To find us Take to A66 from Keswick, ( sign-posted Cockermouth) After 2 miles you will see a fork to the left, signposted Braithwaite. Ignore this and continue on round the bend where you will see a brown signpost for Thornthwaite Gallery. Take the second slip road and Maple Bank is about 30 yards on the left on the road to Thornthwaite. |
