The Granary Guest House is a newly opened luxury 5 star guest house. It is situated in the beautiful historical market town of Berwick upon Tweed,on the North Northumberland coastline.
Surrounded by "Elizabethan" splendour The walls of Berwick provide you with a beautiful walkway to see the town and it's surrounding seaviews.The river Tweed flows out to the sea at this point and is the home to hundreds of Bewick swans,which come back year after year.Fishing on the Tweed in some areas is by permit only,but,you can fish of the end of the pier without one fantastic.
The Granary Guest house is itself a beautiful place to come and stay.We the owners Dave and Pam make every effort to make your stay as welcoming, comfortable and relaxing as possible.
We offer organic foods that have been either locally sourced, or produced.All our breakfasts are home-made and we cater for most dietary requirements.
The rooms you won't be disappointed they are very stylish ,modern ,yet, traditional. The moonlight and Red room,, have excellent shower room facilities,with powerful overhead sprays and invigorating body jets.
The Dream suite is a very romantic space with an exquisite en-suite facility with a free standing bath,and a fantastic power shower with a beautiful sunflower head.All the toiletries we supply are from "WILLOW" organics beautiul fragrances to indulge and spoil yourself.
The rooms all have complimentary Sky tv, mini/bar/fridges,[wine and chocolates] and of course there are your tea/coffee making facilities.Room service goes without say,all designed to give you a relaxing stay.
The Granary Guest House is also licensed for Civil Wedding ceremonies/partnerships. We offer the complete package ,accommodation,wedding planner,your day the way you want it.A small intimate occasion for up to 20 persons max. The Granary Guest House is ideally located close to the Scottish/English border.There are excellent transport links both north and south by road and rail.
The Northumberland coastline is on the south side and stretches from Bamburgh to Holy Island,and to Berwick.Many tourist attractions Historical and geographical are to be found. English Heritage has many castles and stately homes to visit,Etal,Ford,Norham, and of course Alnwick castle with it's fantastic garden's and "Grand water cascade".North of the town we are of course into Scottish territory,The Scottish Border's with it's many abbey's,Melrose,Jedburgh,Kelso and of course there is "Floors" castle,where Prince Andrew proposed to then, Sarah Ferguson.Edinburgh and Newcastle two very important cities are equa-distant from Berwick upon Tweed approx 55miles providing numerous art galleries,theatres,restaurants etc.
The guest house itself is located in the oldest part of Berwick upon Tweed,close to the Elizabethan walls and the river Tweed.Many swans use Berwick you could say as there holiday destination, year after year, almost 6oo swans are attracted to this area because of the abundance of vegetation.
The Granary itself is a "Georgian" town house newly re-stored to it's former glory at the beginning of 2008.Offering style and elegance to many people that come through our door. |
