OVERVIEW
Casa Escocia is a very friendly and fun place to base yourself. The house sits at almost 3,500 feet (over 1000 metres) in height at the top of the village of Nechite (Valor) in the eastern Alpujarras region of Granada.

Four guest rooms, two of which are on suite, provide comfortable accommodation for up to eight people. Guests have use of a large living and dining area, with a library containing a great selection of music and books and access to a large south facing terrace with fantastic views over the region.

Nechite is a sub district of Valor, which has a selection of bars, restaurants and a couple of shops. A large open air swimming pool provides a welcome retreat during the hot summer months (June - August). It is a truely relaxing part of the country where tradition still holds firm in the lifestyle of the village inhabitants. In the mornings you will hear the shepherds taking their goats and sheep into the mountains to graze and old men still use their donkeys to carry goods through the narrow streets.

There are several larger towns nearby providing a larger choice of facilities and nightlife. The coast is only around 45 minutes away with a huge variety of beaches set in secluded coves and quaint marina villages to established beach resorts such as Roquetas de Mar, Almerimar and Almeria.

Casa Escocia is a perfect base for adventure seekers, with amazing terrain and facilities for mountain bikers, snowboarders and skiers, walkers and mountaineers, horse riders, paragliders etc.

A great place for adventure, soaking up the culture of Spain or simply relaxing and unwinding in an area that boasts an average of over 320 days a year sunshine!!

LOCATION & AREA
Casa Escocia is situated in the traditional white pueblo village of Nechite (Valor), which is in Las Alpujarras region of Granada. A beautiful, mystical, mountainous region in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Granada city with its incredible Alhambra Palace is only 1.5 hours away and the Sierra Nevada ski resort is approximately a 2 hour drive away. The smaller fun resort of Puerto de la Ragua is only about 20 mins drive away where you can enjoy cross country skiing, dog sledding and sledging among the activities.

Mountain bikers and walkers simply need to walk out of the front door to be in the Sierra Nevada national park. The famous GR7 trail passes the front of Casa Escocia and many trails lead from the house high into the mountains.

The coast is only a 45 min drive with a variety of beaches and resorts stretching along the Costa Tropical and Costa Almeria to choose from.

Local bars and restaurants serve tapas all day long with a good number to choose from. There are a couple of small local shops in the village but a short drive will take you to several larger towns and cities with all the shopping malls and nightlife you would expect.
