The pretty guest apartment is accessed through the main house and has a private entrance from a sunny rear courtyard with table and chairs for relaxing in the sun. The front door leads into a cosy sitting room with TV/DVD, fully equipped kitchen, shower room with basin and WC and a large twin bedroom.
All ensuite rooms are in traditional Andalucian style,have tea/coffee making facilities and are let on a room only basis.
Guests have access throughout the summer to the pool and sunloungers at the Hotel Balcon de Competa with stunning views to the Med and only five minutes walk from Casa Azahara.
For those more active guests horseriding, motocross, quadbiking and paragliding can be arranged in the Sierras Almijaras and Tejedas on the edge of Competa. Ask for details. |

Casa Azahara offers holiday accommodation in the heart of Competa, a white mountain village in the Axarquia region of Andalucia. Located 650 metres above sea level on the slopes of the Sierra Almijara natural park, Competa is a haven for lovers of the outdoors and those who appreciate the Spanish way of life. It is well known for its locally produced wine and for its stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the Mediterranean coast.
Competa is fascinating to explore with its labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets and has a wealth of excellent bars and restaurants to try. The main square, Plaza Almijara,is a stones throw from Casa Azahara and is a great place to relax and take in the atmosphere.
Fiestas are part of life in Spain and the biggest here in Competa are Semana Santa (Easter Week), the annual village Feria at the end of July when the village parties for 72 hours! and Noche del Vino on the 15th August which celebrates the grape harvest.
The area around Competa has one of the best climates in Europe with an average 320 days of sunshine a year making this an ideal all year round destination. Just over an hours drive from Malaga Airport and a twenty minute drive to the coast it is perfectly situated for a relaxing holiday in a whitewashed village within easy reach of Granada, Seville, Cordoba and the beaches of the Costa del Sol. |
