Chez Raz is an italian/scottish family-run holiday accomodation in a country villa near the town of Velletri in the Castelli Romani hills.
With its panoramic views, large private garden and swimming pool, Chez Raz is the perfect location for a secluded and relaxing country break. The villa is well placed for trips to local lakes, mountains, and some of the best beaches on the Lazio coastline. For sightseeing in Rome, a convenient train runs regularly from the local station to the centre of the city.
Chez Raz can offer B&B or self-catering accommodation options in comfortable and tastefully furnished accomodation for up to 10 people. IF YOU ARE A SMALL PARTY (UP TO 3 PEOPLE) YOU MIGHT WISH TO CONSIDER RENTING THE MINI-APARTMENT (FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN, LIVING ROOM, BEDROOM AND EN-SUITE BATHROOM).
The villa is particularly suited to family get-togethers and the hosts can provide catering on request.
The villa is an easy 20 km drive from Ciampino airport, where most of the European low-cost flights arrive (including Ryanair and Easyjet), and just 45 kilometres from the centre of Rome.
If you would like to organize a special meal or party then your hosts will be glad to cater for your event.
Guests are free to use the garden, which offers plenty of shady spots, sun-loungers and a swimming pool. There are also garden games for the kids and a table football.
A barbecue is also available for guests if you wish to prepare your own meal at the villa in the evenings.
LOCAL ACTIVITIES:
ROME: Rome can be reached by train in 55 minutes. Chez Raz provide a pick-up service to and from the local station.
HILLS, TRECKING & HILLTOP TOWNS: Chez Raz is very close to Monte Artimisio and the Lepini hills, which are ideal for trecking. Characteristic hilltop towns such as Cori and Sermoneta, are also within close range.
BEACHES: Some of the best beaches on the Lazio coastline can be reached within 30 minutes from Chez Raz. Popular beaches are Sabaudia, Nettuno and Tor San Lorenzo near Anzio.
CASTELLI LAKES, TOWNS & VINEYARDS: Chez Raz is just 20 minutes from the lake and the Pope`s summer retreat at Castel Gandolfo and other characteristic Castelli towns and vineyards.
WORLD WAR II INTEREST: The World War II British and American cemeteries and museums at Anzio and Nettuno are just 30 minutes drive from Chez Raz and Montecassino can be reached in one hour.
WINE & OIL: Visits to local organic vineyard and olive picking and visits to olive press in season.

| You can book a meal at Chez Raz's, the cost vary from 18 to 28 Euros, depending on how many courses. The meal is home-made and when possible the ingredients come from our garden, or from the local fruit market. Paola would be happy to cater for a special occasion (e.g. a birthday party). |
Guestbook: We spent a wonderful week there in July 2004. It's a great place for family/friends get-together. The pool is fantastic, and the grounds are spacious, with various fruit trees, allowing for a `quiet` moment, if required. It is bordered all round by vineyards.The town of Velletri is nearby(10 mins.by bus) and is good for dining,shopping,market. By day, we all did our own thing, and in the evening, dined al-fresco by the pool discussing past times/forward times.Paula provides a fantastic 4-course meal, with local wine flowing, all at very reasonable cost. Rome is only 1hr. away by local train, and various day-trips can be done by bus from Velletri. I would love to return sometime. It is well recommended.
What a fabulous week in Italy! We have seen so much, done so much and yet feel very relaxed and contented. We take away with us great memories of the wonderful sights we've seen and of the lovely new friends we've made - Paola, Paul, Olivia, Kitty and Duncan - we look forward to the next time we meet.
in September we gathered at Chez Raz from Ireland , the North of England and Scotland to attend the World Single Carriage Driving Championships at Roca de Papa.
We had a fabulous time and loved staying at Chez Raz.
So quiet and private , yet only a few kilometers out of Valletri.
Paola and Paul are just lovely
and we left with many memories of our stay . The highlight for me being the superb supper Paola prepared for us and held in the newly restored Barn.
Paul piped us over to a candlelit room. It was majic and the food wonderful. We never really had a chance to say how good it was.
Unforgettable!
