Guestbook: Stefano is an absolute diamond of a host, his energy and hospitality incredible! we have just returned from Cagliari and still smiling from our experiences. The room - very comfortable, spotlessly clean and very much home from home. The freedom to use the apartment, the toiletries, towels, hairdryer - in fact everything you need from guide books to guides - restaurant bookings (go to Zodiaco on via Sassari - yummy food and look out for the bats flying high above you in the garden!)..

As for the southside of the island - you need a car - preferably a 4 x 4 but we managed some off-road driving up and over the mountains to those incredible sand dunes! phew!(where were they?!!!) Be patient - driving in and out of the city can be pretty exhausting...but it's all go in Cagliari ...like every other european city we have visited everything is being improved.
Those little starry EU signs saying money is being invested suggests this city is on the up and up...thankfully though in a tasteful non-commercial way, although i noticed a MacDonalds on the corner of via Roma, we closed our eyes and went for the fish restaurants.
The castle at the top of the city - unbelievable views across to Poetta(8 mile beach) and beyond - 360* vista and a fabulous cocktail bar to sit and sip champagne while taking in the air.Don't worry about the climate - it suits all sorts - cool breezes mask the heat and evening temperatures just perfect!The sea so beautiful, ditto beaches...
Wondering what to do next year - even late this year? - then stay here...you won't regret it....promise.....
