Liebe Hofgarten,
We are back home in the usa and wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay with you.
You may use this on your web site if you choose.
Your Hotel was just what we wanted ...Near to and yet far from the big city noises of Freiburg,in the quiet town of Gundelfingen.Your driving directions were easy to follow as we were driving down from Heidelberg. We could get to and from the city in a few minutes with no difficulties. We enjoyed Freiburg very much and want to return in the future,in which case we would most assuredly stay with you again..
Your hotel was immaculately clean and our room was large ,clean and bright, much recommended by us in case your potential visitors need assurance as to its acceptability. The service and breakfast were more than adequate, and your other guests there helped us with driving directions.when we were leaving for Garmish.
I had fun speaking German whenever possible and appreciated your patience as I made enough mistakes to fill a word book.
We ate dinner at the Chariwari restaurant in Gundelfingen and the Ganter Brauerei in Freiburg, both excellent places I liked the Charwari best as the waitresses there were most helpful in translating the menu and they made us feel welcome. This was my wife's first visit to Germany and she was most impressed with the Hofgarten and all of Germany.
We hope your business is successful and hope to stay at the Hofgarten on our next visit.
Dear Trenkle Family,
We recently stayed, with another couple, in your delightful hotel. The location was very convenient to explore the surrounding countryside (particularly the wine villages of the Kaiserstuhl all the way to Breisach) by car and convenient to catch a train into Freiburg.
Our rooms were nice and your breakfasts were exceptional--particularly the breads you served. Another guest mentioned eating at the Chariwari restaurant. We also stumbled upon it and ended up eating there three nights. The people there were very friendly and the food was outstanding--it was mushroom season and the pffifferlinge were on the menu. A side bonus was that, on the walk from the Hofgarten to the Chariwari, we passed by the Lutheran church with the stork's nest on top. The first night we saw two storks in the nest! What an unexpected and delightful surprise.
We'd like to come back to the Freiburg area and would definitely choose to stay in the Hofgarten again.
