Claudy and Alain welcome you to their 18th century farmhouse, in the heart of the Charente vineyards in Charente Maritime.
This quiet bed and breakfast is ideally situated near Cognac (10 minutes) and Saintes (15 minutes), Angoulême and the Atlantic Coast (45 minutes), La Rochelle and Bordeaux (70 minutes).
Less then 1 km from the village of Chérac, you will enjoy the quiet countryside, and appreciate the garden with its picturesque view of the Borderie vineyards, which are well known for the production of Cognac. A picnic table is there for you.
The room called "Borderie" is on the ground floor with an independent entrance. Large and comfortable, it is decorated on the theme of the vine. There is a double bed (140x190) and the possibility of adding a single bed (90x190). Private bathroom with a bath with shower and a separate WC.
The room called " Marine " is on the first floor. It is decorated on the theme of the ocean. Very large, it is ideal for families (4 persons). There is a double bed (140 x 190) and two single beds ( 90 x 190 ). There is a private bathroom with a shower and separate WC.
In the house, you will also find lots of books, games, guides and tourist leaflets (in French or in English), which you can consult in the living room reserved for the guests. The dining room is equipped with a fridge and a microwave oven.
A generous breakfast, with homemade pastries and jams will be served to you in the dining room or on the terrace.
For your visits, Alain and Claudy, keen on regional history and tourist attractions, will take pleasure in advising you on short or long trips. If you enjoy sports or shopping, the proximity of the Charente river (5 kms), two large golf courses, the towns of Saintes (15 kms) and Cognac (12 kms), offer a varied choice.
If you wish to practice French, it will be a pleasure to forget everything about English and if your stay is long enough, Claudy can even give you lessons...
For your meals, there are restaurants or country inns in which to appreciate the local specialities. You can also ask your hosts to prepare picnic baskets for days out in the countryside, share with them simple and familial evening meals (only some days on request), or just profit by the living room or the picnic table.

| The village of CHERAC is located 15 kms east of SAINTES and 12 kms west of COGNAC.
If you arrive by the A10 motorway, take exit n°35 to SAINTES then follow ANGOULEME/COGNAC (don't follow "centre ville").
If you arrive by Cognac follow SAINTES.
Follow the RN 141, which connects these two towns, exiting and following the signs for CHERAC.
As soon as you see our blue signs: "Chambres d'hôtes / Le Puits des Brousses" follow them.
If you don't find them drive to CHERAC.
In the centre of the village, in front of the church, follow the sign to BURIE. When you see the sign BURIE 8 leave this direction and turn left before the cemetery, direction CHEZ BRANGER. A little further on, turn right onto the ROUTE DES GROIES, the sign ROUTE DU PUITS DES BROUSSES is just on the gate of our house on the junction of the road.
