UGANDA LODGE is a brand new Guest House, Camping Site, Bar and Restaurant located alongside the main Mbarara-Kabale Road. Its a 3-4 hour drive by car from Kampala and by request buses will stop right outside the gates.
SW Uganda itself is mountainous with spectacular views across Lakes and Valleys, National Parks & Hot Springs. Colourful Markets and welcoming Villagers all add to the enjoyment of the area.
Accommodation at UGANDA LODGE is in self-contained Bandas or in rooms adjoining the main house. Local food is always available in the restaurant and special dishes can be ordered.
The camping site is a short distance away from the main house and has a toilet/washing block plus a barbecue area of its own.
There is a bar serving cold beers, sodas and snacks and a hall with DSTV for sports/movies.
Regular disco/dance nights are held for tourists & locals alike.
Hill-climbing and visits to local farms, plantations and schools can be organised, as can 4x4 safaris to more distant areas. Fishing can also be arranged.
Tourists spending a couple of days at Uganda Lodge will have many opportunities to meet and briefly share in the life of local villagers - well away from the bustle of the usual tourist hot-spots.
The founder & MD of UGANDA LODGE - Denis Kasiba Aheirwe - is from a local well-respected farming family.
He has started this venture with a view to helping disadvantaged youngsters from his village and the project is now providing training & jobs for several families. |

Staff are as helpful as their current experience of western visitors allows; they try their best to please and provide as many facilities as they can. This is a new project, and aimed entirely at helping improve the life of some of the poorest people in Africa.
