Guestbook: We stayed at the Cape Victoria Guest House during a 2-week trip to South Africa.
Our three night stay was near perfect. Lilly, the owner provides true old world service. She greeted us upon arrival and immediately offered us restraint recommendations and made reservation for us. We felt at home immediately.
Her room rates varied based on size of room and view. We had the roof room which was cozy, at the top of the house. The room had sloping ceilings and windows that opened with views out to the bay. The linens were great, the bed was firm and in good condition and like many SA places it was two twins pushed together – this worked fine for us.
Breakfast was available at 7:00, which is unusual for many B&Bs. The lavish spread included many types of home baked bread, cheeses and jams. Cereal, fruit, and yoghurt were abundant and the granola was also home made. Coffee was good and Lilly always warmed the cream before serving – nice touch.
The deck out the front of the house has great views and a plunge pool that was well maintained.
Excellent fresh fruit was in our room and always available downstairs as well. The mini-bar was not only well stocked it was reasonable enough that I actually used it!
Overall a great experience.
2nd review - We had a fantastic stay here. Lily was fantasic and really helpful with recommendations of restaurants and places to go and see.
The breakfast is truly a sight to behold. Almost all the items are home-made and/or personally prepared. At the breakfast is served until 11.
The rooms are good and the mini-bar is excellent value.
The location (green Point) is very centrally located and a popular spot for tourists.
