The Grand Friday Mosque Male. The mosque has dominated the city's skyline for over 400 years. It is a wonderful example of ancient Islamic architecture.
The National Museum Male. The museum houses exhibits of the sultans' belongings and a number of Thor Heyerdahl's archaeological discoveries such as many of the ancient stone carvings and figures that are featured in his famous book 'The Maldive Mystery'.

Singapore Bazaar, a hotchpotch of stores selling quality local handicrafts and an assortment of Maldivian and imported tourist knick-knacks. The shops selling home hardware, marine equipment, fishing gear and general merchandise for local villages are also interesting and you can get an idea of how the locals live from these items.
