Phnom Penh Shopping

The one local item that is a must-souvenir is the krama, an uniquely checkered scarf which is also useful for keeping the sun off your neck. Silverboxes are also popular souvenirs and are still hand carved by local artisans.

Silk is still handmade using traditional ikat methods and styles and are all handwoven. While the Central market offers a variety of souvenirs, there are also several small local shops offering traditional souvenirs along Street 178 and Sothearos, near the National Museum.
