Shillong capital of Meghalaya is a beautiful and fun loving hill station in North East India at an altitude of 1496mts. It was a pleasant three hour drive from Guwahati, capital of Assam and connected with train and air to rest of India, with lush green mountains, rivers and falls on both sides. It is the only hill station in India with motorable roads in all parts of city and maruti taxis are the chief mode of transport here.Before entering shillong there is a big lake called Bada Pani, spend atleast few hours there to enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. Other places of intrest in shillong are elephant falls, shillong view point, lady hydari park,wards lake, golf course (18 hole), catholic cathedral and museum.A visit to local markets is must. Its a hill station with difference, in spite of being crowded it still has retained the charm.
