Shenyang Parks & Gardens
Bei Ling - The last resting place of Huang Taiji who lived in the early 1600's and was the founder of the Qing dynasty. Take a walk through the surrounding park up the drive to the tomb, which is guarded by large stone elephants, lions and other animals.
Qian Shan - Named the Thousand Lotus mountains, these hills are around 80km from Shenyang and are perfect for a days hiking. Legend has it that the hills were originally lotuses gathered by a fairy. The nearby natural hot springs were a favourite bathing spot of the Emperor Puyi.
