About the Resort
Altinkum,. also known as Didm is famous for its soft fine sandy beaches, also referred to as "Golden Beach". The waters are shallow for around 80m making it ideal for families.
The resort has an abundance of restaurants, both traditional in the old town centre, along with its huge Saturday maket, and a selection of multicultural restaurants along the beach front (over 120 in total). The resort even has its own camal, which is often seen at the top end of the beach promenade next to all the local stores selling everything from watches, to T shirts to typical Turkish crafts.
There is a new water park - just 10-15 minutes drive, and a host of travel tour companies doing the historic tours to Pammakae, Ephesus and many others.

Dear Linda,
Really was great, and thank you very much for allowing us to stay in your apartment. It was really posh... the complex is super, and the pools are just what you need in that heat. We used to stop at the bakers on the way home each night (5 minute walk) and have the bread for breakfast, and walk into town in the evening for our meals. The restaurants in the town centre are great value for money, and traditional in every respect. We also avoided the hassling that tends to happen on the beach front restaurants. That Turkish restaurant you recommended, about 10 minutes down on the left is really special. the messes just keep on coming, and then there is no room for mains. We will keep in touch, as we hope to book again.
