Nerja is described by Which? Holiday magazine as the best coastal holiday destination in Spain. The town has retained it's traditional Andalucian character of narrow, winding streets and white-washed houses. Sheltered by the surrounding Sierra Almijara mountains, Nerja is said to enjoy the best all-year round weather in Europe.
Activities nearby include walking, water-skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, paragliding, cycling, riding, tennis and go-karting. The Baviera Golf Club is 15kms away at Velez Anoreta Golf Club, whilst the Rincon de la Victoria Course is 30 kms. The famous prehistoric Caves in Nerja are just a short car journey away and should not be missed. There is a local market held nearby each week.
Andalucia is steeped in Spanish culture and history and Nerja is the perfect base from which to visit the Alhambra Palace at Granada, as well as Cordoba, Seville, Ronda, Gibraltar and Tarifa with its world class windsurfing and hydrofoil trip to Morocco.
