Guestbook: Pepe’s little cottage is great, it’s in a very convenient location, easy to get to all the touristy places like las Ramblas, the neighbourhood is quiet and friendly, the Magic Fountain is well worth a visit. The Poble Espanol is fun, and gives a real feel for Spanish architecture, with the usual bars and restaurants and some craft shops. Local amenities are excellent, bakery around the corner, supermarket for most things and lots of good local restaurants for when you want to eat out.
Food in Barcelona is fantastic and we mostly did that, but it’s nice to start the day with fresh bread and some fruit etc. Pepe is very welcoming and if it’s your first time in Barcelona then a trip out with him maybe a very good way to see some of the more remote parts of the city, otherwise public transport is excellent, cheap, safe, very easy to use and open late at the weekends!
There are more museums and galleries than you can imagine, so choose wisely because you can’t do them all unless you plan to be there for months
