Location
The 2 apartments situate at the holiday village Pedras del Rei, between the tourist cities Faro so as Olhao and the 4000-year old Tavira. Different from the mass tourism in Westalgarve, you may enjoy the quiet nature and cultural part of Portugal. Here many public sport and entertainment facilities are also available. Praia do Barril, the beach with the best sand quality, is 15 minutes away from the apartments.
* Since the two furnished studios stay next to each other (photo similar), groups with 4 - 6 travellers may rent both at a time.

How do I get to the beach?
Different from most of beaches in Algarve, you will find no rocks on the beach Praia do Barril. In other words, this beach is perfect for swimming. No other beaches except this have such clean and fine white sands. Therefore it has been awarded with "the safer and better beach"and received the blue flag for it.
From the apartments you may go straight through the village center. Or you may get to Ria Formosa by choosing shortcuts. It takes only 3 minutes of walk. A wooden bridge connect the village and Tavira Island. On the island there are mini trains driving travellers to the beach. The trip taks about 3 minutes (ticket price: about 1.5/p, yet with visitor cards that we lend you for free, you may use the train freely during your stay). Of course you may also get to the beach on foot. That takes a little bit longer, but you might have more time to enjoy the beautiful mud-flats scenery. Besides, don't forget to pay attention to the different height of the sea water at different hours.

Other sports and entertainment:
It is the paradise for photographers: Whatever you see around here is absolute picturesque and exotic. Just do not forget to carry your camera with you. Please inquire at the reception about camping park, golf field, sport stadiums, basketball/ football fields, fitness centers, sail clubs, or mini cruise, yacht, horse-riding, hiking, diving, renting bycicles, sport fishing, cross-country driving, fado, casino and so on.

Arrival from Faro Airport
Taxi:
By Taxi you may easily arrive at Pedras d'el Rei from Faro Airport. It costs about 30.
Bus:
By EVA Bus at Faro Airport you would arrive in Tavira first (ca. 5/p). Then come by another bus (ca. 2/p) or by taxi (ca.7) to Pedras d'el Rei.
Train:
First go to Faro Railway Station by EVA Bus then go to Tavira by train (ca. 3). After arriving Tavira you may change the bus (ca. 2/p) or by taxi (ca. 7) to Pedras d'el Rei.
Car:
Sure you may also rent a car at the airport and drive to us!
