Located on the second floor of a two floor villa, this two person flat is fully furnished for a comfortable holiday stay including also a private parking and an own garden where it is possible to relax on the sunchairs getting a suntan or enjoying the shadow of a big tree. Surrounded by other villas with gardens, the house is located at the end of a short private street in a beautiful and quiet residential area close to the Nottolini aqueduct, an impressive 19th century monument built with 400 arches.
This area is the best place from which to enjoy a stay in Lucca because the centre and the train station are both easily accessible by foot or bicycle and since it is now almost impossible for anyone except residents to drive a car into the city centre you could leave your car inside the villa's gate and start your visit by walking, travelling in a horse drawn carriage or riding a bicycle around the romantic and massive walls surrounding Lucca enjoying the incredible views over the city. |

An urban area of very ancient origin, Lucca's recorded history dates back to its days as a Roman municipality. It is an important city for art and culture, including a vital historic centre of extraordinary beauty and interest, and conserving, almost intact, its compact urban network of houses, towers, medieval churches, Renaissance palaces and 19th-century piazzas.
As Lucca is centrally located, this flat is also a wonderful base for a couple wanting to spend a holiday exploring Lucca and other cities in Tuscany such as Florence (70 km), Pisa (20 km), and Siena (110 km). Nearby is also the sea-side region of Versilia, with the famous resorts of Viareggio (20 Km) Torre del Lago - the lake of Giacomo Puccini - (15 km) and Forte dei Marmi (25 km) with its spectacular marble quarries, the Apuan Alps (60 Km) and the wonderful mountainous region of Garfagnana, that includes absolute jewels like the medieval village of Barga (35 Km).
The Lucca railway station is reachable in a 3 minutes walking.
The nearest airport, well connected to Lucca via the local train is the Galilei International Airport in Pisa. Several trains go throughout the day Pisa - Lucca (20 minutes). |

Guestbook: Apartment has plenty of quality storage space for clothes and seems much
more spacious than footage suggests.
Comfortable firm bed. Kitchen has two
radiant hobs with built-in fridge and a little grill/warmer. High ceilings
make it feel luxurious. Apartment was very clean and easy to keep clean with
wooden floors and a low-maintenance kitchen area.
Proximity to town and
station a big plus and owner is very friendly without being intrusive. Lucca
is strategically placed for Florence and Pisa but less good for Elba or
Siena. Lucca itself is clean, friendly and feels safe. After a few days you
really warm to the city.
There was a production of Madam Butterfly on when
we were there, which we greatly enjoyed and some of the back-street
restaurants are quite reasonable and real gems. The mass of bikes are
charming. We took our own folding bikes and had a great time. Helmets,
lights and obeying rules seem very much the exception for cyclists! Some
roads very busy though, so choose your routes carefully. Nice cycle path
along river, as well as the obvious one on walls.
