Beside the beach there is a tourist port where you can board boats to Capri, Positano, Sorrento etc.

Pogerola is one of the hamlets on the western side of Amalfi (5 Km), its name is believed to come from Pigellula which was the name of the ceramic plate on which bread was baked in the oven. Pogerola was a castle of Amalfi’s Maritime Republic, located on the hills above the city, where the population found refuge during the many incursions from the sea. The castle was ransacked in 1135 by the Pisans. During the 15th century the square tower was built in Sopramare and its remains can still be visited. Inhabitants of the village have always grown vines, olives, lemons and chestnuts. The parish church of Pogerola was built in 1140 and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, while on the main square, the church of Madonna Delle Grazie was built in 1539.
