The town of Saint Gervais is built against the legendary Mont Blanc; and is spread across the greatest difference in altitude in Europe : from 580 to 4810m. It has been welcoming tourists since 1806 with its impressive landscape and breathtaking views, due to the fact that the town lies in a narrow river gorge halfway between Megève and Chamonix.
This small alpine town offers a diverse après-ski and an excellent selection of interesting food shops, cosy bars, nightclubs and restaurants. Every Thursday morning there is a market.
For skiiers, this area is particularly recommended for good intermediates whilst snowboarders will enjoy one of the best snow parks in the region. The Mont-Joly and Mont-Joux sections offer steep slopes where more advanced can make the most of the good off-piste skiing.
At Saint Gervais a wide range of activities are offered, ranging from endless snow sport possibilities to relaxation in its alti-forme thermal spas. There is a cinema, casino, and many outdoor activities available such as an Olympic skating rink or unforgettable snowshoe walks. A trip up the mountain on the Mont-Blanc Tramway is not to be missed.
