Taxi:

Bus:
Stagecoach 43 operates every 10 minutes between the airport and Manchester city centre. Trent Bus 199 will take you to Stockport and Buxton.
Rail:
During the day trains depart every ten minutes into the city centre and up to four trains every hour during the night. Trains run to Manchester Piccadilly rail station and the journey takes approximately 15 - 20 minutes. There are direct, night service trains to and from Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Huddersfield, Bolton, Preston and Blackpool.
Road:
The airport is served by taxi, bus and coach.

Information Desks are located in all the terminals and some staff members can communicate in British sign language. Tourist Information Centres (+44 (0) 871 222 8223, touristinformation@marketing-manchester.co.uk) are located in the Arrivals areas of Terminals 1 and 2.
Baggage:
Left-luggage facilities and lost property offices are available (tel: (0)161 489 3463 for Terminal 1 and (tel: (0)161 489 6031) for Terminal 2.
Money:
Banking facilities, Bureaux de Change and ATMs are located in all the terminals.
Religion:
There are two multi-faith prayer rooms with easy access for everyone, open 24 hours a day for prayer and quiet time. One prayer room is located in the walkway between terminals 1 and 3. The prayer room in Terminal 2 is located on the departures concourse.
Showers:
Wash facilities are located in the walkway between terminals 1 and 3.

Telephones are located throughout the airport. Fax facilities is available at the information desks. Internet access is also available. There is a Post Office in terminal 1. Baby Change rooms are located in all the terminals and a play area for children is located in Terminal 1.The Dry Cleaning Centre is in Terminal 1. Boots the Chemist is in all three terminals. The NHS Walk In Centre located in the walkway between Terminals 1 and 3 offers first aid and advice to all passengers free of charge.

There are around 40 places to eat and drink you may choose, Starbucks, Mancuniun Cafe, County Kitchen, Lancaster Brasserie, Donkey Stone Pub, The Food Village, Harry Ramsdens, Deli-chick and many more.

There are numerous shopping opportunities. In all the terminals you will find, WH Smith for reading matter, Boots the Chemist, Alpha Airport Shopping and Dixons Tax Free. Other stores among the many are All'ombra, La Senza, Thorntons, Monsoon, Fashion Gallery and Waterstone's.
Business Facilities:
The Business Centre, located at Terminal 3 offers a wide range of professional business support services, including private workstations with telephone, Fax, Internet access, photocopying, word processing facilities, message-taking service and video conferencing. At Manchester Airport conference and banqueting facilities caters for up to 400 people. Audio-visual equipment is including overhead projection system, PA system, centralised control consoles, telephone, fax, Prestel etc. is available. Disabled Facilities:
There are parking facilities next to the lifts in all the multi-storey car parks. Use the telephone on level 5 of Terminal 1 car park should you need assistance. Lifts and ramps are provided throughout the airport. Telephones for wheelchair passengers are located in all the terminals and induction loops are provided for the hearing impaired. Toilets are located throughout the airport and ambulift is used to access the aircraft.

Activities near the Airport:
The Viewing Park is situated on the A538, between Junction 6 of the M56 motorway and the airport tunnels. Turn down Sunbank Lane, by The Romper public house, then right onto Wilmslow Old Road. The Viewing Park has a large visitor's centre with wonderful aviation information and also an Avro RJX exhibit which is the last Civil Airliner built in the UK. There are raised viewing mounds, which provide excellent opportunities for photography, providing unrivalled views of the runways. Other Interesting Information:
In 1928 Barton in Eccles is chosen as the airport site. On September 1 1939 the last scheduled passenger flight was taken until 1946 when passenger service was resumed. In 1980 more than half a million passengers passed through Manchester in one month. In 1995 passenger throughput hits 15 million. Construction of the second runway was commenced in 1997 and in 2004 the retired Concorde is put on display in the Viewing Park.
