| From the M25, exit at junction 21 for access to the M1. From the M1, exit at junction 10 and follow the pointers to the airport. From the east and the A1, take the A505 dual carriageway at junction 9; the airport is located just off the A505 and the signposts are clear.

London Luton Airport was opened in July 1938 and during the war years was used as a base for 264 Fighter Squadron. It was also the site of Percival Aircraft Manufacturing Company building aircraft for civil and military use. The airport is owned by the Borough of Luton but is operated, managed and developed by a private consortium.
