Bamburi Beach Beaches
Kenyatta Municipal Beach A great beach for the family as the water is clear and shallow at low tide exposing interesting coral pools. Acres of fine sand and boats for hire and beach vendors for food and drink.
Mombasa Serena Beach One of the nicest beaches on the North Coast is situated adjacent to this hotel, although they charge for the use you can use their facilities. Relax here with swaying coconut trees above and waiters bringing you drinks.
Whitesands Another beautiful stretch of beach by the Whitesands hotel. It's also private, but very relaxing and the friendly hotel staff will make you feel at home.
Bamburi Beach Restaurants and Bars
Bamburi Beach Restaurants
The Ziwani Buffet Located at the Bamburi Beach Hotel and offering a large selection of traditional African and international dining. There is a different theme nightly.
Galaxy - Island, Archbishop Makarious Road, opp. CMC is this popular chain of Chinese restaurants with a menu full of Chinese favourites, good sized portions and friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere.
Jungle Village One of Bamburi's in places offering home cooked, tasty local food in an authentic African setting, the pool table might spoil that somewhat. As in most places on the humid coast the mossies will be feeding on you as well.
Paradise Next to the Kenol Petrol Station, a large nyama choma (barbequed meat, don't always know what kind of meat) with tables in small huts. The 'goat a la orange' here tastes exactly the same as Elephant, so check as they maybe pulling a fast one.
Bamburi Beach Bars & Clubs
Club Coco The Bamburi hotels disco really gets going late at night, but if you are in the mood to give them mossies a run for their money then shake them all off to the techno beats down here.
Harry's Bar At the nearby Nyali Beach Hotel and modelled on a British pub named after Harry Noon who built the hotel. Draught beer, small screen sports and a dart board with the only thing missing, a pool table (wonder if they go to Jungle Village and ask nicely)
Bora Bora Just next to Jungle Village is this hectic night spot, a well stocked bar and dancing sometimes to a live band. This leads up to the midnight show which will leave you (you hope soon). A different performance every night entertains.
Bamburi Watersports On the beach next to the Ocean Beach Hotel and more of a family bar than a club and they host a show in the afternoon, if you miss it you might catch the same show at Bora Bora.
Pirates Next to Bora Bora is a restaurant/disco that offers dining and dancing for the early evening crowd, and if you want to extend your evening just pop next door.
