Overview

The feeling of the Old South awaits you in this beautifully restored 1880's mansion. Situated on four acres in the heart of Virginia's Hunt Country, the Grey Horse Inn is furnished with fine antiques and period reproductions. Five light filled and airy guestrooms, each with private bath and fine linens, are available for your stay. A full breakfast is prepared for you each morning to be enjoyed in the dining room or on the back porch, overlooking the garden.



Located in a quaint village setting, the inn is surrounded by old plantings and a large garden. Beyond the garden is open pasture, views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and vivid sunsets filling the western sky.



The Grey Horse Inn is a quiet retreat, yet convenient to all local area events, vineyard tours, and Civil War sites, as well as fine shops and dining. Reservations are recommended for event weekends.



The Grey Horse Inn is an excusive bed and breakfast located in The Plains, Virginia, between Middleburg and Warrenton and near Upperville, Marshall and Manassas. With easy access to Washington DC, and Baltimore MD, our six guestrooms are luxuriously appointed with antique furniture and sumptuous linens for the romantic holiday or getaway weekend.



For the horse lover or fox hunt enthusiast, Great Meadow and Glenwood Park offer steeplechase racing, polo, and other equestrian events including the Virginia Gold Cup and International Gold Cup.



The Grey Horse Inn is located minutes from many wineries, civil war battlefields and antique shops. There is biking and fine dining, and for those who like to hike, fish or bird watch, the Blue Ridge Mountains, Skyline Drive, and Shenandoah River are nearby.
