Matagorda Dunes Townhomes-just across the dunes from the Gulf of Mexico near the mouth of the Colorado River on the Matagorda Peninsula. An hour & 1/2 south of Houston,we are surrounded by a unique 1,600-acre LCRA park and preserve dedicated to providing recreation, education, preservation & economic benefit to the region. There is something for everyone, whether you like fishing, camping, picnicking, canoeing, bird watching, beachcombing or just relaxing. The park has about two miles of Gulf of Mexico and river frontage and hundreds of acres of fragile coastal marshes and dunes. It is the location of one of the best birding areas in the nation.
