Alamo Inn B&B offers clean, quiet comfort set in Alamo, Texas, at the center of the rich Lower Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, 5 miles from McAllen airport, close to Progresso, Mexico, 25 miles from Harlingen Airport, 7 miles from Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge, close to bird, butterfly & nature hot spots. We have an Outdoor Shop with bird and butterfly field guides for Texas, optics (binoculars & birding scopes), bird & butterfly hot spot maps, etc., a working nature artist gallery & studio, & we offer guiding for birding & butterfly watching, & canoe rental. El Dorado restaurant offers great Tex Mex and American food 7 days a week across the street. Most of our guests are birders or butterflyers and we offer special rates to them and to seniors & AAA members. We have a meeting room for nature meetings and workshops. Alamo Inn is an ideal romantic getaway.
