Overview
The legendary Niobe Waterfalls is the setting for this
charming 2 bedroom 2 bath Victorian home at the end of
a quiet country lane. Our private den sleeps two with
clever and comfortable twin bed "sleeper chairs."
Most rooms afford a spectacular waterfall view. A
romantic, wrap around veranda runs along the river and
is the perfect place for morning coffee or tea
(supplied, of course, along with a variety of
wholesome breakfast items). Your well mannered dog is
always welcome; we provide bowls and bed for your
canine companion.
An updated, fully equipped cook's kitchen provides
opportunities to cook with friends, or stroll over to
the Fernwood Restaurant for cocktails and dinner.
Our Waterfall Vacation Home is ideally located between
Woodstock(12 miles), Saugerties(8 miles), Catskill(10
miles) and Hunter Mountain (for winter sports, 10
miles) in the sleepy hamlet of Palenville, the setting
for Washington Irving's story of Rip Van Winkle. The
beauty of this area serves as the inspiration for the
Hudson River School of Painting.
Horse lovers, take note! We are convenient to
H.I.T.S. for summertime equestrian events.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
