Overview
Country Acres Retreat is a rustic cabin, nestled in a grove of white pines in Garrett County, Maryland. It sleeps up to 12 persons. It is a fully insulated, heated cabin for year-round enjoyment, located in the scenic Appalachian mountains of western Maryland.
Also available within a few hundred feet, if needed, is a pavilion with picnic tables, chairs, charcoal and gas grills, and a campfire circle of large rocks for relaxation, story-telling, or reminiscing.
The cabin has three bedrooms plus an additional sleeping area. It has a full bath on the main floor and men's and ladies' restrooms with showers on the ground floor. Its private location offers quiet seclusion overlooking a picturesque, two-acre lake. Located at Country Acres Strawberry Farm on Foxtown Road, it is only 10 minutes from the famous Deep Creek Lake and Wisp Ski area.
Popular Deep Creek Lake recreation area offers year-round relaxation including boating, hunting, fishing, water and snow skiing, and other amenities. There are 24-hour convenience stores, grocery stores, an eight cinema theater, golf course, restaurants, state parks, and much more. Operated by a Mennonite family, this cabin is located within 1-1/2 miles of two Mennonite churches: Glade and Cherry Glade. Visitors are warmly welcomed to all Sunday morning and evening services at both of these churches. Lutheran, Brethren, Independent, and other congregations are within easy driving distance.
This cabin features a full hickory kitchen with an eat-in bar area, and includes an electric range, microwave, blender, dishwasher, lots of silverware, plates, glasses, cooking utensils, and much more.
The large great room features a rustic, native sugar maple hardwood floor which still shows the tap holes made by the "sugaring" process years ago. The great room is furnished with a sofa, loveseat, recliner, and a large, "antique" plank-style table with a bench and chairs seating from ten to twelve people.
A tastefully decorated full bath and a queen bedroom is on the main floor. One is struck by the rustically beautiful wooden floors, ceilings and trim.
The large loft affords a beautiful view of the two-acre lake, and includes a king-sized bed, and additional sleeping space of two single beds on rollers for those "extra," younger guests. An additional 4" foam mattress is also available, if needed.
The ground floor includes a bedroom with a full-sized bed with a single trundle bed underneath, a men's and a ladies restroom and shower, and a utility room with a washer and a dryer. Rounding out the ground floor is a family room with a new queen sized sleeper sofa bed, a cot, a TV on 60-channel Dish Network plus the Pittsburgh local channels, and a VCR. Again, there is a beautiful view of the water.
A small baby crib is also available as needed.

Amenities & services
This cabin offers all the normal comforts of a home, yet also offers complete privacy. It includes items normally not included in rentals. We supply paper towels. Salt and pepper and some other seasonings are in the kitchen cupboard. Sugar and non-sugar sweeteners for your coffee or cereal are also there.
You will find a jar of popcorn so you can enjoy a bowl while you and your family put a puzzle together on a cold winter day, as you watch the beautiful snow falling outside. Or, in warm weather, there is ice and iced tea mix for your refreshment.
There is a bird feeder outside and a bird book so you can identify the birds you see. Coloring books and crayons are available for the children to use. You will find some magazines to read while you relax on the sofa or love seat.
A removable ramp is available for wheel chairs and all doors on the main floor are at least 32 inches wide to accommodate wheel chairs.
This cabin was built in 2001 and met all the strict building codes in effect in Garrett County.

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
