Overview

The River Dance Lodge is a place that celebrates wild rivers, nature and adventure. The resort is located on the banks of the Middle Fork of the Clearwater
River and is surrounded by National Forest lands and adjacent to the 1.1 million-acre Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area, one of the largest in the Nation.

This is a nature-lover's paradise, thick with forests of fir, pine and cedar and dozens of creeks that flow into the three pristine rivers that neighbor the resort – the Selway, Lochsa and Middle Fork of the Clearwater.

We welcome you to the River Dance Lodge to relax and enjoy the ambiance of a handcrafted log cabin. Enjoy hikes in the nearby forest or swim from white sand beaches in the crystal waters of the Clearwater, Lochsa or Selway rivers. At the end of the day sooth your body with a soak in your own private hot tub on the deck of your cabin, with a heavenly view of verdant, forested mountains and the swiftly flowing Clearwater.

There are six cabins at the River Dance Lodge. Four of these have one main floor bedroom and one loft bedroom, with a full bath on the main floor. Two cabins are configured as duplexes and each unit has two bedrooms downstairs that share a full bath and, an upstairs loft bedroom with an additional bath. Each cabin has a comfortable living room with a dining table and chairs, a gas fireplace, sitting areas and a pull out day bed (trundle bed). You'll find unique, character-filled furnishings and local artwork. A small kitchen counter with microwave and coffeemaker is provided along with dishes for your convenience. Each is stocked with tea, coffee, cocoa, sugar, creamer, salt and pepper.

Casual dining is available in the Syringa Café where you'll find homemade huckleberry pies, a variety of traditional food, healthy salads, a delicious selection of wine, microbrews and friendly, hospitable staff.

Location: Halfway between Lewiston, Idaho and Missoula, Montana, the River Dance Lodge is located on the Northwest Passage Scenic Byway on U.S. 12 in the heart of Nez Perce Territory. This route is the easiest way to trace the Lewis and Clark Expedition route along the Clearwater and Lochsa Rivers.

Activities at the River Dance Lodge are offered by ROW (River Odysseys West), Idaho's premier rafting and canoeing company. Celebrating 25 years of service in 2004, ROW runs river trips throughout Idaho and Montana.
