Overview

Perched above the 16th green of the Kapalua Plantation Golf Course, this 3-bedroom house enjoys some of the best views in Maui, overlooking the Honolua-Mokuleia Bay and the Island of Molokai. The Plantation Golf Course hosts the prestigious Mercedes Championship every January which draws a strong field of PGA players.

The house is 3500 square feet of cool contemporary luxury, blending Asia Pacific art with chic furnishings and Hawaiian hardwoods and etched glass. The entrance from the driveway through the glass and Koa wood doors brings you to the great room with a gourmet kitchen to the right, equipped with Sub-Zero fridge, Wolf gas range and plenty of work area. A low breakfast bar divides the room and the living area is arranged to either enjoy the ocean view across the pool and deck or the 50” LCD TV, elegantly concealed behind sliding doors that are part of the bookshelves on the wall. There is a semi-formal dining area at the one end of the kitchen with a high breakfast bar.

The house has three bedrooms each with their own TV and ensuite bathroom. At one end of the house the guest master offers a king bed and doors lead out to the deck where there is a chair and lounger. The bathroom is spacious and is equipped with a large shower and twin sinks. At the other end of the house the second bedroom has a queen bed, a TV and its own smaller bathroom also with a shower. The master bedroom has a king size bed and French doors leading out onto the pool deck. The ensuite bathroom has an open shower, Jacuzzi tub as well as a door out to a very private outdoor shower.

The outdoors is equally impressive – the large infinity pool dominates the area directly outside the house with a raised hot tub spa that cascades water into the swimming pool. The pool is heated and is often hard to leave given the view that it offers. Gas tiki torches mark the edge of the property and frame the view, which is one that can only be described as “Hawaiian”. The rest of the landscaping includes lush lawns and an array of palms, bougainvillea, plumeria and other tropical plants.

Hale Mahulia is close to award winning Kapalua Beach, D.T. Fleming Beach, Mokuleia Beach, Honolua Bay, Kapalua Bay, and other West Maui swimming, surfing and snorkeling spots. Napili Beach is just over a mile from Kapalua.

The Kapalua Resort is home to the Ritz Carlton Hotel and Kapalua Bay Hotel, as well as fine dining restaurants, spas, salons, an art academy, a historic church, a small grocery store, a yoga center, gyms, art galleries, boutique shops, 2 additional championship golf courses, tennis courts, horseback riding, hiking, and beach areas. The new Kapalua Golf Academy is proving to be a huge success and keen golfers can either take single lessons or sign up for a full course.

A complimentary shuttle bus is available on-call for transportation anywhere within Kapalua Resort and to and from West Maui Airport. Convenient commuter flights depart from West Maui airport for easy access to island hopping. At the present time West Maui does not accept private aircraft. Kahului Airport is approximately 40 minutes by car from Kapalua.
