Overview

You might feel like you are in the deep south on the wide veranda at the front of this home, but don't be fooled, it's right in the center of Holmes Beach. Inside the plantation style property the living area has a high ceiling which gives the room a lovely feeling of space and light. It is also a cool spot to relax on the comfortable sofas or prepare a snack in the open-plan kitchen. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed while two further bedrooms have queen-sized beds. Outside, the freeform pool and tropical plants might even make you feel like you're on desert island well you are. Just six minutes' walk away is the golden sand of Anna Maria Island. With the Holmes Beach commercial center only a short stroll away also, you are perfectly placed to make the most of everything the island has to offer.

Location & area

All along the island you will find bike paths, marinas, water sports, sailboats, tennis courts and broad sweeping expanses of peaceful uncrowded beaches overlooking the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Quaint turn-of-the-century fishing piers are a great place to drop a fishing line, walk off a sumptuous meal or pass the time of day with the locals. Our protected beaches are home to loggerhead turtles, pelicans and herons and it is common to see dolphins playing in the waters of the Gulf.

Dining on the island is a culinary adventure with everything from casual beach cafes for breakfast or lunch, to fine restaurants with an international reputation. There are plenty of small shops and boutiques to browse around for gifts, craft items, silver and distinctive casual clothes. Just over on the mainland is the vibrant city of Bradenton and with Tampa and Orlando just a drive away, you can easily spend a day at Disney or Busch Gardens.
